Rafter Walk wins NCE Bridges Award

We’re delighted that Rafter Walk at Canada Dock has been named Active Travel Project of the Year at the 2025 NCE Bridges Awards.

This 170-metre boardwalk honours the site’s timber-trading legacy while offering a bold, contemporary route across rewilded wetlands. The design integrates movement, ecology and reflection—connecting people to place through a striking assembly of red steel and tropical hardwood.

Xylotek played a key role in the delivery of the project, combining expressive timber engineering with a deep sensitivity to site and context. The structure was engineered by Whitby Wood.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this thoughtful and collaborative project – and to all the other finalists and winners celebrated on the night.
