Natural History Museum officially opens the Urban Nature Project

Great to see the Garden Kitchen and the Nature Activity Centre supported by AWS now open for the public to enjoy as part of the Urban Nature Project at the Natural History Museum in London.

These two new buildings sit within the museum’s restored five-acre gardens, which have been reimagined as a living landscape for research, learning, and connection with urban nature. The wider project is led by the Natural History Museum, with Feilden Fowles as architect and Walter Lilly as main contractor.

Xylotek was appointed to deliver the Douglas-fir timber frames for both buildings, working closely with the design and construction teams through detailing and installation. It has been a privilege to contribute to a project that so carefully integrates landscape, architecture and science.

Congratulations to all involved in bringing this ambitious and generous project to life.
