Xylotek are pleased to announce that the piece entitled 'Equanimity' has won the CDUK Award for Architecture.

The installation at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition was made by Webb Yates in collaboration with The Stonemasonry Company to showcase how reusing materials like stone and timber minimises the embodied carbon of projects.

"The conception of the beam was a combination of engineering design and craft knowledge. Allowing the pragmatic and the scientific to rule in the design is what has lead us to make such a rarefied and arresting object with a real prospect for the future." says Steve Webb.

Xylotek were contracted as fabricators for the timber trestle which the stone elements are attached to, creating a stable frame for the piece.

Congratulations to everyone involved, this is a wonderful recognition of this thought-provoking piece.
