Fixed Contract Installation Manager (Bristol/remote)

Xylotek seeks a structural timber Installation Manager to join our team.

We are a fast growing, creative and sustainable UK-based timber construction company seeking to expand our capacity to deliver exceptional structures in wood.

By combining unique depth of knowledge of timber construction with advanced technical and design expertise, we offer bespoke specialist consultancy, production and installation services at all project stages from conception to built realisation.

Who we seek:

We are going through an exciting development of growth and seek an experienced installation manager with specialist skills in structural timber installation, passionate about innovation in wood architecture. Ideally with previous site management experience, although training will be given to the right person.

They will:

  • Review, prepare and present Risk Assessments/Method Statements for site teams
  • Manage site install teams
  • Manage client and other stakeholders communication through install
  • Ensure construction is carried out to plan and in on time
  • Maintain Quality Control procedures and H&S of sites
  • Prepare resource plan for install staff and equipment
  • Arrange logistics for fabrication and installation
  • Maintain site tools and equipment

Summary of role requirements:

  • Experience or specialism in structural timber installation
  • A passion for high-quality construction and installation.
  • A thorough understanding of timber and its possibilities.
  • Assessing risks for site work, Rams, lifting sequencing and workflow programming
  • Working knowledge with method statements and regulations
  • Experience of installation with other construction materials.
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • Scheduled and ad hoc maintenance of tooling and equipment
  • Diligence for paperwork and report
  • Desirable Timber construction industry experience or site management training.
  • Vocational qualifications – CSCS – MEWPS- SLINGER BANKSMAN-PASMA- TELEHANDLER- APPOINTED PERSON etc

Salary negotiable. The installation manager will cover a varied work location with geographic spread of install sites around the UK and on occasion internationally.  Periods staying away will be necessary.

Installation Supervisor x2

Who we seek:

We seek a Structural Timber Install Supervisor to support Xylotek’s Installation Manager to deliver timber structure installation projects from prestart to completion, in line with the Company’s vision and ethos.

Design / Cadwork Technician (Bristol / remote)

Who we seek:

We seek a skilled designer who is passionate about innovation in wood architecture. With experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, making or construction. Knowledge of contemporary digital design techniques, CADCAM workflows and the ability to produce fabrication drawings, is important. Cadwork (timber 3d design software) experience preferred.

The Design Technician will:

 

  • Develop timber structural and connection details, in liaison with Project Managers and Design Director, for our projects during design development.
  • Produce 3d models of timber structures, connections and interface details
  • Produce 2d drawings for each project stage, including: arrangement drawings, detail drawings and fabrication drawings.
  • Produce fabrication information include files for CADCAM and in coordination with the workshop management
  • Prepare schedules, drawing lists, drawing issue sets and specification documents
  • Check and quality control of internal and third-party design and fabrication information
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Xylotek’s design standards, templates and guides.

Project Manager x2 (Bristol / remote)

Xylotek seeks a project manager to join our team in delivering advanced timber structures.

Who we seek:

We seek a skilled project manager, passionate about innovation in wood architecture, with experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, making or construction. High level proficiency of IT and CAD is essential.

The role will entail:

  • project development including through physical prototyping
  • 3D modelling and data management for CAD/CAM fabrication
  • coordination with architect and engineer partners
  • coordination/management of fabrication and installation teams
  • project management of cost and programme
