Design / Cadwork Technician (Bristol / remote)

Who we seek:

We seek a skilled designer who is passionate about innovation in wood architecture. With experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, making or construction. Knowledge of contemporary digital design techniques, CADCAM workflows and the ability to produce fabrication drawings, is important. Cadwork (timber 3d design software) experience preferred.

The Design Technician will:

 

  • Develop timber structural and connection details, in liaison with Project Managers and Design Director, for our projects during design development.
  • Produce 3d models of timber structures, connections and interface details
  • Produce 2d drawings for each project stage, including: arrangement drawings, detail drawings and fabrication drawings.
  • Produce fabrication information include files for CADCAM and in coordination with the workshop management
  • Prepare schedules, drawing lists, drawing issue sets and specification documents
  • Check and quality control of internal and third-party design and fabrication information
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Xylotek’s design standards, templates and guides.

Project Manager x2 (Bristol / remote)

Xylotek seeks a project manager to join our team in delivering advanced timber structures.

Who we seek:

We seek a skilled project manager, passionate about innovation in wood architecture, with experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, making or construction. High level proficiency of IT and CAD is essential.

The role will entail:

  • project development including through physical prototyping
  • 3D modelling and data management for CAD/CAM fabrication
  • coordination with architect and engineer partners
  • coordination/management of fabrication and installation teams
  • project management of cost and programme

Office Assistant (Bristol)

Who we seek: 

We seek an Office Administrator to assist the Practice Manager in the administration for the company at our workshop and office facility in Bristol.  

This person will enjoy the variety of roles that only come with working for a small, growing Company.

We are looking for someone driven and ambitious to grow with us. 

The role will entail: 

  • Providing front of house reception. 
  • Carrying out all necessary activities to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the office, both for our remote and workshop-based activities.  
  • Managing the “universal diary” of people and vehicle movements, meeting dates etc. 
  • Ad- Hoc PA for the senior management team. 
  • Assisting the project management, and workshop manager 
  • Reconcile and process incoming invoices 
  • Run social media accounts 

Salary negotiable. The role will be based at the Bristol workshop. Part time or full time considered depending on situation. 

Person / Skill Specification: 

Must have: 

  • Good IT skills, especially Word and excel.   
  • Good communication skills to liaise with all stakeholders of the business at all levels 
  • Drive to continually improve office systems  
  • Self-motivation and timekeeping  

Desirable: 

  • Experience working with sub-contractors 
  • Experience with design or construction companies or similar roles 
  • Sales experience
  • Ideally having worked with Xero
  • Photoshop and/or InDesign experience

Workshop Supervisor (Bristol)

Xylotek seeks an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join our team in delivering advanced timber structures.

We are a fast growing UK-based timber design and construction company seeking to expand our capacity to deliver exceptional structures in wood. By combining unique depth of knowledge of timber construction with advanced technical and design expertise, we offer bespoke specialist consultancy, production and installation services at all project stages from conception to built realisation.

Who we seek:

We seek an experienced Workshop Supervisor who is passionate about innovation in wooden architecture and construction and who has hands on experience.

Preferably with experience in the field of structural carpentry, with a knowledge of the contemporary  engineered timber materials and fabrication processes. Knowledge of workshop tooling, Health and Safety practices and contemporary digital design techniques, is essential.

The role will entail:

  • Following fabrication information and drawings precisely.
  • Using modern and traditional carpentry techniques: building precisely, safely and efficiently.
  • Contributing to the development of bespoke fabrication techniques for specific projects.
  • Working with the workshop manager to ensure the workshop is tidy and well organised.
  • Ensuring safe working practices and fire safety at all times.
  • Providing specialist fabrication advise and lead fabrication teams in the workshop.
  • Ensuring material is used efficiently and without unnecessary wastage.
  • Ensuring the finished fabrication accommodates the needs of the installation team.

Salary negotiable. This role will be based at the Bristol workshop.
